Hello friend,

Welcome to my page. I am an XR artist, creator, director, producer, teacher.... What does that mean, you ask?

It means that I like telling stories with new technology, and helping other people to do it too.

For the last 6 years I've been doing that in the world of journalism. First at the New York Times. And then more recently at Yahoo News.

I've directed, shot, edited, scanned and 3d modeled. From films to immersive experiences. I've taken productions from concept to completion as a one man band and also a team leader. I've developed workflows to use next-gen tech for breaking news in some of the most fast-paced newsrooms in the world.

I've trained students and colleagues alike, and evangelized to them about the possibilities of new technology and new modes of storytelling.

If you're looking for someone who can help you and your team tell stories in new and imaginative ways, we should talk.

Here's some nice things folks have said about me...
"Not only does Tim bring a wealth of technical knowledge and production expertise to projects, his curiosity and creative thinking pushes the boundaries of visual storytelling in new and exciting ways....His passion and enthusiasm for immersive storytelling is contagious, but he’s also highly thoughtful and strategic about its uses and execution."

- Becky Horvath, Senior Producer Yahoo Entertainment and Life
"Tim’s work has made a significant impact, engaging millions of Yahoo users and winning industry acclaim, including a sweep of the 2021 National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards"

- Marcus Errico, Editor in Chief, Yahoo Entertainment & Life
"Tim is a curious self-starter who tinkers with new technologies and regularly teaches himself new skills. During his tenure at the Times, he learned to shoot and edit VR and went on to train dozens of other Times journalists in 360 production. As a critical member of the Times’s immersive journalism team, Tim developed the systems and workflow for our daily publication of 360 video on five platforms."

- Marcelle Hopkins, Visual Editor for Special Projects, NYT
"A highly creative, talented and hard-working collaborator in immersive technologies for our visual investigations team at The New York Times. Tim introduced us to new tools and techniques that led us to experiment with immersive 3D reconstructions. As well as making the journalism and presentation of our stories more explanatory, these approaches gave us valuable new reporting frameworks on two marquee investigations"

- Malachy Brown, Senior Story Producer, Visual Investigations, NYT
